Depop è un’azienda innovativa nel settore dell’e-commerce fondata nel 2010 in H-Farm: è il modo più semplice e divertente per vendere e comprare direttamente dal tuo telefono. Recentemente siamo stati classificati come una delle 10 migliori app di Londra. Il successo di Depop deriva anche dall’aver creato il primo e-commerce social, che ha dato la possibilità a chiunque di crearsi una piccola attività. Dal 2012 Depop ha sede principale nel quartiere tecnologico di Londra: Shoreditch, e ha altri uffici a New York e Milano. Vogliamo espandere il nostro team tecnico in Italia e dargli sede in H-Farm, nelle sedi di Cà Tron (Tv) e di Milano. Stiamo cercando un Android Developer per dargli l’opportunità di sviluppare il nostro prodotto di maggior successo, e lavorare per una delle più prestigiose aziende sul mercato mobile di Londra sostenuta dai Venture Capital più influenti.

Mantenere un’alta qualità del codice

Ottimizzare le performance dell’app

Assicurarsi un ottimo lavoro di localizzazione per il lancio dell’app in nuovi mercati

Essere in grado di stabilire quando è più opportuno sviluppare un proprio framework e quando invece integrarne uno già disponibile

Mantenersi aggiornati su nuove tecnologie che potrebbero migliorare la piattaforma o lo sviluppo

Essere in grado di recepire gli input del Product team e del Design team e di lavorare in maniera collaborativa

Requisiti

Laurea di Primo livello in ingegneria informatica o equivalente competenza lavorativa

Minimo 2 anni di esperienza in sviluppo di applicazioni Android native

Avere un portfolio di app veloci e performanti rilasciate sul Play Store

Conoscenza delle architetture di applicazioni client-server

Esperienza di Automated Test e Continuos integration

Ottima conoscenza della lingua inglese, parlata e scritta

It’s social, users recently voted the app one of London’s top 10 most loved apps. Depop is a fast-growing mobile social marketplace on a mission to revolutionise mobile e-commerce. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join an early stage company based in the Shoreditch area of London, backed by some of the most prestigious VC’s in the industry. We want to expand our technical team in Italy and to locate it in H-Farm offices in Milan and in Cà Tron (Tv). We are looking for an Android Developer to join the team.

Responsibilities

design and implement new user-facing features in the Depop app

work closely with the design, product management and backend teams to ensure that new features are implemented efficiently and effectively

write unit tests and instrumentation tests and integrate them into our CI environment to ensure the quality of code going forward

refactor existing code to leverage the latest developments in the Android framework

optimise the performance of the app to ensure that we have a minimum memory, CPU and data footprint

educate the Depop family on the engineering challenges faced when supporting a wide range of devices with varying screen sizes, orientations and densities

maintain a healthy curiosity towards other Android apps and champion ideas on what we can do to make the Depop Android app better

ensure that our localisation efforts support introduction to new countries

help make our app support tablets and orientation changes properly in the future

integration of new SDKs when required within the app

Requirements

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience

2+ years of Android and Java programming with the responsibility for shipping at least one well regarded Android application

technical knowledge of mobile application development in Android with experience producing apps that feature a fast, consistent and non-blocking user experience

solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and multi-threading

experience in consuming a RESTful API

excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
